My second trip to South Bend was for an epic clash of college football blue bloods - Texas at Notre Dame. My parents and younger brother went to the BYU game in '94 but I had to stay home for a marching band competition. Sigh!
Our seats were in the endzone opposite Touchdown Jesus and offered a fantastic view point of Emmet Mosley's punt return TD. It was a beautiful sunny day.
Notre Dame scored early and often en route to a big win. This is the only time I've been to South Bend in September, as we typically aim for late October or November games to align with peak foliage and slightly cooler, but not freezing, temps.
